REGIONAL COMMISSIONS
In 1999, Robert
and Evangeline Rodenbush gave birth to the concept of Regional
Commissions. Determined to continue the search for answers to the
evangelization of the vast Europe/Middle East Region with its 75
nations and territories and 1.2 billion people and desiring a
greater ingathering of souls, the Rodenbushes decided to seek for
more answers. Believing that, “If we continue to do things in the
same way, we will continue to get the same results,” and that “a
small root growing in the right place can crack a whole building,”
it was decided to bring together into groups the experience,
ideas, talents and resources of the missionaries and national
leaders who live in the culture and work with the people. Who
would have greater insight, wisdom or burden? Who could analyze
better what has been done and what needs to be done? Who could
come up with better ideas for the future? These concepts and ideas
should come from us who are directly involved in the work. With
the great spirit of unity that is enjoyed in the region, Robert
Rodenbush felt it was time to come together to search our minds
and hearts as well as seek the mind of God for direction for the
future.
The Foreign
Missions Board, in October 1999, approved the policy and procedure
for the development of Regional Commissions in the Europe/Middle
East Region. Presently, there are 12 Regional Commissions
operating:

These
commission coordinators, along with the six area coordinators,
make up the Research and Development Commission. All of these
commissions work in cooperation with each other and with the
Foreign Missions Division, Global Council and the United
Pentecostal Church International.
