"His
Daughters"
Submitted by Becky
Buckland
While beginning
a pioneer work in the un-reached nation of The Czech
Republic, I was prompted in the Spirit to begin a ministry
of reaching out to the women of Prague by establishing a
consistent monthly Ladies Bible Study group, now nearly 8
years ago.
Since that very first meeting, God has allowed me the
privilege to foster and nurture a desire for the spiritual
in the lives of many different women who are heavy-laden and
searching for more meaning to life.
Of the group who attend (anywhere from nine to fifteen
women), I have come to realize that most of these women are
either divorced or widowed, (with the exception of only one
or two), and are daily grappling with the monumental
challenges of life totally alone. My heart became so
burdened for these women who, for many various reasons, now
are left with no light or hope at the end of the long, dark
tunnel.
Invitations are mailed 10 days in advance to all women
visitors who have attended our church services in the recent
past. We do our best to present a warm, safe and inviting
atmosphere in our church fellowship hall, with the purpose
of sharing a little of His love while presenting the Gospel
at the same time.
As most of the women come directly from their jobs to the
Bible Study, opening the meeting with small finger foods and
refreshments for the first 30 minutes or so allows everyone
to relax and clear their minds while curbing physical hunger
pains.
Bibles are placed around the table, and usually the basic
outline of the Bible Study has been translated for their
benefit. Many times I will have all the Scripture verses
typed out in Czech for them on their notes so it will be
handy for them to re-read in the privacy of their homes.

Prayerfully asking God the
specific direction for each Bible Study, He has never failed
to show me the way. In February we taught about God’s
Faithfulness, and how He will never leave or abandon us, and
how desirous He is for us to invite Him into our daily
lives. During the Easter season we showed them in the Bible
where women were the last at the cross, the first at the
tomb, and the first to proclaim the resurrection, with
direct involvement and participation in the spiritual.
During the spring season as the natural rains and sometimes
stormy weather come from above, the end result is new life,
vibrant colors, and beauty. So it can be in our lives, if we
will allow the rain from the storms He sends to our life to
wash us clean, and bring us to His feet, allowing His
complete purpose to be fulfilled in our lives. Oh, how He
wants to love us, to care for us, to save us, to work
through us! Through
this method of outreach and patiently working with these
women, some of them have come to repentance, baptism in
Jesus’ Name, and even filled with the Holy Ghost. It is my
prayer that all and many more will follow. God has given my
heart a love for these women, therefore it is not hard to
pray for them, or minister to their needs.
If you have not yet begun a
Women’s Ministry in your church or area of responsibility, I
would ask you to prayerfully consider it. Yes, it is much
work … but what better way to touch the lives of the lost
women around me than by lovingly offering the Hope of the
Gospel! |
